The Senior Business Analyst – CIAM will play a key role in shaping how Optus onboards, identifies, and authenticates customers across all channels. Sitting within the CIAM program and reporting to the Director, this role partners closely with specialists across identity verification, authentication, and customer data to translate complex business needs into clear requirements. You'll help turn regulations, policies, and strategic objectives into actionable project outcomes, ensuring strong controls, smarter processes, and a seamless, secure customer identity experience.
In this high‑impact position, you'll drive priority initiatives such as building end‑to‑end identity reporting to detect issues and strengthen compliance, as well as defining requirements for unified authentication and new centralised identity verification services. Drawing on strong analytical and technical skills, you'll provide insights that drive real improvement and support fraud prevention, customer protection, and operational excellence. This role offers broad exposure across Senior Management, Risk, Finance, Sales, Service, Product, Engineering, Customer Insights, and Marketing.
What you'll be doing
* Lead multiple CIAM projects, ensuring requirements are well‑defined and aligned to business and customer needs.
* Act as a key liaison between CIAM, IT, senior leadership, SMEs, and experience teams to design compliant and improved identity and authentication solutions.
* Maintain up‑to‑date expertise in large‑scale customer identity verification and authentication, including industry trends and emerging practices.
* Produce high‑quality analysis and documentation for high‑risk projects, including business requirements, use cases, scope matrices, future‑state designs, and UAT plans.
* Oversee project governance by identifying identity‑related risks and compliance issues across initiatives.
* Manage and maintain the CIAM risk register, ensuring risks are actively tracked, escalated when required, and visible to senior stakeholders.

* Degree in business, computer science, or a related field.
* 5+ years' analytics expertise across data integration, visualisation, SQL, and large datasets.
* Identity, authentication & risk knowledge, including credit risk and compliance reporting.
* Strong project and stakeholder skills, with proficiency in MS Project, Visio, Excel, BI tools, and clear communication.
* Excellent analytical, presentation, and problem‑solving skills, with strong interpersonal and influencing capability.
