Job Overview
As a key member of our airline catering team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking hot and cold meals to the highest standards.
Our kitchen environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with a structured brigade system in place to ensure efficiency and productivity. You will work closely with your colleagues to meet daily production targets and maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and visual presentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook hot and cold meals according to menu specifications and portion guidelines
* Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and visual presentation
* Monitor wastage and portion control as part of daily production targets
* Work collaboratively with your section and wider kitchen team to meet deadlines
* Keep your workspace clean and hygienic in line with HACCP procedures
* Contribute to safety and quality records as required by aviation food standards
Requirements
* Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
* Excellent knife skills and experience in a commercial or high-output kitchen
* Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety processes
* A focus on quality and consistency, especially when following set recipes
* The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* A reliable, team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills
* Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
* Willingness to complete a police check, pre-employment medical, and drug & alcohol test out of staff own pocket
