Role Summary
The Senior Data Scientist will lead and manage the development of advanced audience solutions such as propensity modelling (e.g., XGBoost), clustering (e.g., K‐means), audience skew profiling, and measuring the success of these initiatives. The role will also involve developing new capabilities to answer media‐related questions from a data‐led perspective and exploring AI deployment for meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and execute analytical approaches, including developing, training, and optimising machine learning models and other analytical modelling.
* Lead in‐house analytics projects and upskill people within the Data Science team where appropriate.
* Own and deliver existing KINESSO ML/AI Pipelines.
* Collaborate with internal customers to identify business problems and provide actionable insights.
* Work with one of the largest consumer data sets in AU, acquiring, cleansing, transforming and verifying data from first, second, and third‐party data sources.
* Interpret data, analyse results and identify trends using statistical techniques and provide ongoing insights/measurement reports.
* Manage end‐to‐end client delivery involving internal stakeholders, data collection & preparation, quality control and delivering accurate/timely models & insights.
* Manage project execution, keep track of scheduled tasks, investigate issues and escalated to Head of Data Science if deadlines at risk.
* Collaborate with specialist teams on data infrastructure and processes.
* Liaise with key internal SBUs/agencies to verify data integrity, model accuracy and input for client presentations.
* Proactively engage leaders across the business to build a data science profile and identify new business opportunities.
* Evaluate and refine processes for continued efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
* 5+ years proven experience in Data Science.
* Experience using statistical programming languages/libraries/packages for large datasets (e.g., R, Python).
* Experience with data modelling techniques such as multiple linear regression, classification, segmentation, etc.
* Experience with ML and AI.
* Experience with large data sets such as web traffic (clickstream) and third‐party demographic data.
* Experience with data interrogation, manipulation and extraction using SQL/R/Python on large databases.
* Experience visualising, presenting data and building dashboards using Tableau is desirable.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience with AWS & Snowflake.
* Experience with Airflow desirable.
* Experience with API's.
* Project management and prioritisation against multiple deadlines.
* Teamwork skills.

* Experience with Media Analytics desirable.
