Senior Accountant Job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Ballarat, VIC. As a key member of our financial operations, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of our business, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
About the Role
* Prepare and review financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
* Manage tax compliance, BAS, FBT, and other statutory reporting requirements to maintain our company's reputation and avoid penalties.
* Support project costing and provide financial analysis for operational and capital expenditure to inform strategic decision-making.
* Collaborate with department heads to improve cost control and operational efficiency, identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes as needed.
* Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax agents to ensure seamless communication and resolution of any issues that may arise.
Requirements
* CPA qualified (or working towards) with a strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and job/project costing.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Proficient in accounting software (e.g. MYOB or ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel, with excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
