Retail Sales Assistant – Marine Chandlery

We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to support our busy store. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same—perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and has a genuine interest in marine products.
You'll be assisting customers with a wide range of marine products including safety equipment, electronics, rigging, maintenance supplies, and accessories. Your goal is to provide expert advice and outstanding service to help customers get the most out of their time on the water.
About You
* A genuine passion for boating and the marine industry (tell us about it in your cover letter!)
* Previous experience in the marine industry or marine-related sales
* Strong knowledge of marine products and equipment
* Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
* A mature, proactive mindset with a strong work ethic
* The ability to work independently and use initiative
* A valid Australian Driver's Licence
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional customer service to retail and trade customers
* Process sales via phone, email, and over the counter
* Respond to product enquiries and assist with order processing
* Actively promote Nautical Supplies' products and services
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Experience in marine sales, spare parts interpretation, or a technical background
* Familiarity with inventory or stock management systems
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
Training & Support
* Comprehensive on-the-job training
* Ongoing product training from key suppliers
* Supportive, experienced, and collaborative team environment
