The CCU at Gailes is a residential rehabilitation facility for adult consumers who are in recovery and require additional support and life skills to successfully transition to independent community.

About the role
This role provides psychology-specific mental health clinical services to consumers with complex mental illnesses who are residing in a community based mental health residential facility. Clinical services include assessment, recommendations, case management, collaborative care planning, therapeutic interventions and promotion of recovery within the multidisciplinary team, with the aim of supporting consumers to learn or re-learn living skills needed to live independently.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
* As part of a multidisciplinary team, identification and assessment of complex psychological functioning of consumers of a residential rehabilitation mental health service. Domains of this assessment include cognitive/neuropsychological, emotional, behavioural, personality, psychopathology, and risk. Such assessment involves the advanced application of standardised psychology tools as well as high level clinical judgement to inform all stages of patients' treatment including diagnosis, conceptualisation, formulation, intervention, and risk management.
* High level skills in design/adaptation, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based psychological therapies and interventions for consumers of a residential rehabilitation service. Such interventions (individual and group) must be based on sound psychological assessment and formulation, informed by dynamic risk assessment, and conducted in consultation with the multidisciplinary team, the patient, and the patient's family/carers.
* Ability to undertake case management for a small number of Residents. To facilitate through-care and collaboration via treatment handovers and liaison with other stakeholders and partnerships. Such collaboration includes providing consultation to and effective liaison with agencies including primary, secondary, and tertiary mental health services, and non-government organisations
Mandatory Requirements:
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 (PDF) ( )
* General Registration as a Psychologist, or eligibility for General Registration, with the Psychology Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency – AHPRA) is mandatory.
