Base Salary of $120,340 per annum (CNS2) (pro-rata) as per our Enterprise Agreement + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging via Maxxia to maximise your take home pay. (Including venue hire, meals, entertainment and novated leasing).

Are you an experienced paediatric nurse ready to make a real difference in a unique healthcare setting? Macquarie University Health is seeking a passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist (Paediatrics) to join our team and provide outstanding, patient-centred care to our youngest patients and their families.

This is a rare opportunity to work within Australia's first and only fully integrated academic health sciences centre, where clinical practice, research and education come together to drive better health outcomes. About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Paediatrics), you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to paediatric patients across a range of clinical presentations. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, drawing on your specialist knowledge to deliver safe, family-centred care.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering advanced, holistic nursing care to paediatric patients, ensuring best practice standards are maintained at all times
Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualised care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes in collaboration with the healthcare team
Providing clinical leadership and expert guidance to nursing staff, including mentoring and supporting the professional development of junior colleagues
Collaborating with medical, allied health, and academic teams to ensure coordinated, integrated care across the patient journey
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and evidence-based practice development within the paediatric service
Educating patients, families, and carers to support informed decision-making, self-management, and continuity of care
Participating in the education and supervision of nursing and health sciences students, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals

About You

You are a dedicated and skilled paediatric nurse who thrives in a collaborative, patient-centred environment. With strong clinical acumen and a genuine passion for children's health, you bring both expertise and warmth to every interaction. You are committed to continuous learning, evidence-based practice, and supporting those around you to deliver the highest standard of care.

Selection Criteria:

Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Extensive post-registration clinical experience in paediatric nursing, with demonstrated advanced clinical skills and knowledge
Relevant post-graduate qualifications in paediatric nursing or a related specialty (or equivalent experience)
Proven ability to provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and education to nursing staff and students
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and professional development
Ability to work effectively in a part-time capacity within a dynamic, multidisciplinary healthcare environment
