The Role
Are you passionate about helping people take control of their energy use and reduce costs? As an Energy Coach, you'll empower households to improve energy literacy, cut bills, and access energy-efficient solutions. This role combines technical know-how with community engagement, making a real difference in people's financial wellbeing and sustainability.
Energy Ahead, part of the Financial Wellbeing Collective (FWC), supports households experiencing financial stress across WA's South West Interconnected System (SWIS). Through education, coaching, and practical solutions, we help families thrive.
Key Responsibilities will be:
* Conduct household energy assessments and deliver tailored energy efficiency reports.
* Provide education and coaching to households on reducing energy costs.
* Supply low-cost energy-efficient items to address high energy usage.
* Act as a local ambassador for Energy Ahead, promoting the program and strengthening referral pathways.
* Represent Energy Ahead and FWC in community settings.
This role is located in Geraldton and offered on a fixed term Full-time basis until September 2026, working 76 hours per fortnight.
About You
You're passionate about empowering people to make positive changes and thrive. You're a problem solver who enjoys finding practical ways to help households struggling financially. In addition, you will have:
* Relevant experience in a similar role.
* Intermediate written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and public speaking skills.
* Intermediate interpersonal skills with an ability to relate to a wide range of clients in need of assistance, including clients from Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to maintain high quality standards and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Valid Driver's Licence (and vehicle), Current Working with Children Check, Satisfactory Police clearance, and WA White card or willingness to obtain if required.
* Experience in a community services organisation (desirable).
* Experience in outreach capacity/home visitation (desirable).
