Business Systems Application Developer – App & eCommerce

The Role
This role reports to the Mobile Application & eCommerce Lead and is responsible for developing secure, scalable backend systems that support customer-facing mobile apps and eCommerce platforms. You will work across APIs, microservices, and loyalty systems, enabling seamless functionality across digital channels.
Responsibilities
The Business Systems Application Developer plays a critical role in delivering robust backend capabilities supporting mobile and eCommerce experiences. This includes development, integration, deployment, and support of systems using .NET and Azure-based microservices.
You will provide:
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using .NET and REST
* Implement Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers supporting mobile and web applications
* Integrate with systems including D365, loyalty platforms, customer identity providers, and internal services
* Build cloud-native solutions using Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, etc.
* Ensure system performance, logging, diagnostics, and monitoring practices
* Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and apply secure coding principles
* Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
* Troubleshoot issues and deliver high-performing, reliable backend services
* Produce technical documentation and contribute to training where required
* Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend developers, DevOps, and stakeholders

About You
* Proven experience developing backend systems using .NET and REST APIs
* Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and microservices architecture
* Familiarity with integration across loyalty, ERP, and identity systems
* Skilled in CI/CD, secure coding, and backend observability practices
* Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
* Ability to write clean, maintainable code and technical documentation
* Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments is highly desirable
