About Gateways:
At Gateways Support Services we walk alongside children, young people and adults with disability and their families to help build independence, confidence and connection. Our services span early childhood intervention, respite, skill development, independent living, specialist care, and more, always shaped around the needs of each individual.
We are a diverse team of mountain bike riders, comedians, skiers, surfers, gamers, movie buffs, musicians, cat people, dog people and more. What unites us is a shared passion for supporting people with disability and making every day a better day. Guided by our values of Commitment, Opportunity, Respect, Excellence and Empathy, everything we do is about creating safe, high-quality supports that help people thrive and enjoy a better quality of life.
The role:
If you love supporting educators, building their confidence and helping them see what's possible for children with disability and additional needs, this could be your next meaningful career move.
We're looking for an experienced early childhood professional - perhaps an existing Preschool Field Officer, or a highly skilled Early Childhood Teacher wanting to shift into a coaching and capability-building role to join Gateways as a PSFO & Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) Specialist.
This role is all about sharing your expertise. You'll step into kindergartens across the South West Region, work alongside educators, and help them build inclusive practice in ways that feel achievable, meaningful and aligned with their strengths.
When you're not out visiting services, you'll have the flexibility to work from home to complete planning, documentation and reflective consultation.
It's a 2-day-per-week role, with flexibility in how those days are structured to align with funding and service allocations
Although the role covers both PSFO and KIS functions, they remain separate areas of work, and you'll shift between them depending on what each service needs.
Who this role is perfect for:
This role suits someone who:
* Has deep early childhood experience and is ready to build the skills of others
* Loves mentoring, coaching and guiding educators through complex or sensitive situations
* Can confidently interpret children's developmental needs and support educators to respond
* Feels energised by helping others grow
* Wants a role that blends autonomy, relationships and meaning
* Enjoys a mix of onsite visits, remote work and community connection
If you're an experienced teacher looking for a change, or you've already worked in a PSFO or a KIS Consultant role - you'll thrive here.
What you'll bring:
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Experience supporting or coaching educators (formal or informal)
* Solid understanding of child development, inclusive practice and the VEYLDF
* Ability to guide educators in planning for diverse learning and development needs
* Comfort navigating discussions with families and supporting reflective practice
* Confidence working independently and managing your own schedule
* Tech-friendly approach to documentation, reporting and communication
Why Gateways?
At Gateways you will find more than a job - you will find purpose. Every role contributes to safe, high-quality supports and positive outcomes for people with disability and their families. You will be part of a team that celebrates individuality, fosters belonging and creates opportunities to learn and grow.
We also offer:
* Flexible work options to support work-life balance
* Salary packaging up to $15,900 per year
* Convenient onsite parking
* Employee Assistance Program
* Free flu vaccinations
* Career development and progression opportunities in a growing organisation
* Access to staff discounts across health, fitness, and lifestyle services
If successful in this role, you will need to obtain the following compliance documents:
* NDIS Workers Screening Check Clearance
* NDIS Workers Orientation Module (certificate of completion)
* Working with Children Check (Victorian, Employee)
* Victorian Driver's License
