The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Welder to support our recycling and manufacturing operations by maintaining, repairing, and fabricating plant equipment, structural components, guards, chutes, frames, bins, conveyors and related infrastructure.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in an industrial environment and takes pride in safe, high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities Perform MIG / Stick welding (and TIG where required) on carbon steel and related materials.
Fabricate and repair plant components: brackets, frames, platforms, guards, hoppers/chutes, conveyor components and general structural steelwork.
Interpret technical drawings, measurements and sketches; accurately mark out, cut, and prepare materials.
Use workshop tools and equipment safely (cut-off saws, grinders, drills, oxy/thermal cutting where licensed).
Conduct preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise downtime.
Work closely with maintenance and production teams to plan repairs, coordinate shutdown works and prioritise tasks.
Maintain high standards of WHS compliance, housekeeping and hazard reporting (LOTO, SWMS/JSA, hot works).
Complete job records, maintenance logs and quality checks as required.
About You (Skills Experience) Proven experience as a Welder in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, recycling or heavy maintenance environment.
Strong welding capability and quality focus (neat welds, correct penetration, attention to finish).
Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and meet deadlines during breakdowns.
Good communication skills and a team-first attitude.
Commitment to safety and compliance in a licensed, regulated environment.
Qualifications Tickets (Preferred) Trade qualification High Risk Work Licence (e.g., Forklift) desirable.
Current driver's licence.
