About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Horticulturists / Retail Nursery Hands to join our friendly and hardworking team. This role suits someone who enjoys working hands‐on with plants while also engaging with customers in a retail nursery environment. The position may be casual or part‐time, with hours including weekends and public holidays.
About You
You are enthusiastic, reliable, and take pride in your horticultural knowledge. You enjoy sharing advice with customers and contributing positively to a team‐focused workplace. You are confident working with a wide range of plants and maintaining high presentation standards across the nursery.
You Will
* Provide friendly, accurate horticultural advice and customer service
* Assist customers with plant selection, care, and maintenance
* Maintain plant health through watering, pruning, potting, and general care
* Assist with plant deliveries, stock handling, and nursery maintenance
* Support visual presentation and general retail operations
The Successful Applicant Must Have
* Certificate III in Horticulture (essential)
* Sound knowledge of outdoor and indoor plants, herbs, and seedlings
* Retail or customer service experience (preferred)
* Strong attention to detail and plant care standards
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Physical fitness for outdoor and manual work
* Flexible availability, including weekends
* A positive attitude and strong work ethic

The family‐owned and operated Garden Centres, located in Heidelberg and Mt Evelyn, are cared for by a family of passionate horticulturists and an awesome team.
We are focused on providing a wide range of quality outdoor and indoor plants, herbs, seedlings, potting mixes and an extensive range of seasonal giftware.
