Resources Victoria is on a mission to facilitate informed and responsible exploration, development, extraction and rehabilitation of Victoria's valuable earth resources, from critical minerals and gold to sand, rock and gravel. We oversee an industry that is central to the state's economic growth and infrastructure development, while ensuring it operates safely, responsibly, and sustainably.
As Complex Case Officer you will contribute to the delivery of solutions to resolve complex and historic regulatory cases. Drawing on relevant legislation, policy and technical resources, you will engage closely with internal stakeholders to research, analyse and make recommendations to resolve complex historic regulatory cases and see them through to conclusion. Delivery of this program is crucial to enabling a smooth transition to a new duty model of regulation for the mining and quarrying sector due to commence mid-2027. Delivering robust decisions supported by contemporary strategic insights you will oversee a program that will contribute to improved risk-based regulatory practices.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in supporting the delivery of case management, preferably in a regulatory environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in preparing complex policy briefs, letters, emails and reports.
* A relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
