Responsibilities:
* Create technical reports from site investigations
* Edit reports created by others within the company
* Manage workflow for each project throughout the company
* Request access from property owners for drilling and coordinate with stakeholders
* Manage inventory of well supplies
* Keep field notes and borehole logs according to state and company standards
* Liaison between State agency project managers and the company
* Schedule field work as projects are ready to move forward
* Research site geology and nearby site reports to ensure accurate information for work plans
* Determine locations for wells and soil borings
* Ensure reports are completed by deadlines
* Research information helpful for bids for projects
* Prepare field team for field work
* Calibrate the Photoionization Detector (PID)
* Ensure the team is properly equipped for the work (supplies, sample containers, work orders, project information, etc.)
Field Work:
* Manage team efforts in the field
* Ensure all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer and company standards
* Ensure all client and company safety requirements are adhered to during field activities
* Be the point of contact between the company and the public as well as local, state, and federal government agencies
* Help with all field tasks to ensure they are completed on time and according to state and company standards
* Perform field tasks specifically required to be done by a Geologist:
o Record borings to state and company standards
o Take PID readings
o Complete supporting paperwork (sample forms, etc.) according to state and company standards
o Work with other team members to ensure work is done on time and according to state and company standards
o Help organize team to perform efficiently
o Ensure Chains of Custody are correct for samples going to the laboratory
Requirements:
* Professional Geologist License in Kansas
* Valid driver's license
* Four (4) year degree in Geology
* Preferred: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
