Various part‐time positions (0.8 FTE per week) and a fixed‐term role (six‐month rotation) are offered at the Parkville location. Salary ranges from $86,580 to $111,878 (pro‐rata) plus salary packaging, super and five weeks annual leave.
About the Birth Centre
The Birth Centre and Assessment Centre provides pregnancy, labour and birth services to the Royal Women's Hospital. The focus is on high‐quality, woman‐centred midwifery and obstetric care delivered by a multidisciplinary team including Core Birth Centre Midwives.
About the Role
As a Core Birth Centre Midwife you will provide collegial and collaborative clinical support to the multidisciplinary team working in the Birth Centre and Assessment Centre.
A Regular Day Will See You
* Provide direct patient care for all women accessing the Birth Centre / Assessment Centre.
* Collaborate effectively and in a timely manner with medical staff and other departments.
* Promote a culture that values multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical excellence, individualised care and midwifery‐led care where appropriate.
About You
You will have excellent communication skills, a positive and inclusive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
You'll Bring With You
* Relevant clinical experience, ideally 5 years consolidated Birth Centre experience or a commitment to consolidating your Birth Centre / Assessment Centre skills and experience.
* Competence in advanced midwifery skills or evidence of working towards or willing to achieve these skills within 6‐12 months of appointment (skills include: IV cannulation, ARM, FSE application, administration of PGE2, insertion of cervical ripening balloon catheter, speculum examination, water immersion for labour and birth, perineal suturing and newborn examination).
* Passion for provision of exceptional midwifery care for all women attending Birth Centre / Assessment Centre, including women seeking termination of pregnancy services.
* Level 3 FSEP (most recent).
