We are an Australian family owned Wholesale Nursery located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland (Obi Obi valley behind Mapleton) specialising in the production and sale of rare and tropical plants.
An opportunity is opening for an Administrative/Sales Manager to join our small team. The role is a pivotal and senior role within the business reporting to the Director.
The position will primarily involve sales, contracts, staff management (HR and scheduling), stock tracking/counting, website/social media content creation and transport logistics. A large part of the position is based on customer service, client/staff relations and driving sales, so ideally you come a from a sales or administration background with experience in the horticulture industry or a good working knowledge or interest in plants.
**Your new role**
Reporting to the Director; and collaborating with the Production Manager you will lead sales, contracts and oversee administration, plant quality control at sell stage and staff relations to achieve optimum outputs. The position works with the Director and Production Manager to oversee an overall staff of between 8 to 16 depending on the season.
Responsible for business administration and assisting with dispatch operations, you will work collaboratively and cooperatively to facilitate team results and effectiveness.
- Experience in a leadership management role - sales, horticulture or administration preferred
- Excellent time management and communication skills, including negotiation skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels
- Robust computer skills and exposure to inventory management software favourable
- Intermediate to advanced MSOffice skills
- Sound organisational and planning skills with a solid and thorough work ethic.
- High level of speed and accuracy for data entry skills
- Happy to also work outdoors (rain/ hot weather when necessary)
- Own reliable transport (no public transport available)

**Key responsibilities**:
- General sales - maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients and suppliers.
- Contract preparation and collaboration with outside stakeholders.
- Upholding quality guidelines, counting of nursery stock and creating marketing and sales availability lists.
- Ensure company is up to date with quality/safety/environmental standards including all relevant OHS and biosecurity protocols, develop policies and procedures and monitor compliance with WHS standards
- Managing recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of staff.
- Lead, inspire and develop within the team a culture with a strong emphasis on respect and inclusion.
- Conduct regular meetings with employees and seasonal contractors.
