About Our New Program

HERE – Hope Empower Resilient Enable is a new program funded by Queensland Health, designed to provide early intervention and non-clinical psychosocial mental health supports to young people up to 18 years of age who are at risk of disconnecting due to a mental health condition.

The program will operate within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Services catchment, with team members located at our Bundaberg office, Hervey Bay, and Agnes Water sites.


Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our Fraser Coast team. This is a full-time fixed term position until 30 June 2026.

Travel within the Hervey Bay area will be required, and a company vehicle will be available.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide One-on-One Support: Offer individual support, mentoring, and coaching to young people to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
* Facilitate Group Programs: Develop and deliver group programs and activities that engage and empower youth, promoting positive relationships and healthy lifestyles.
* Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with other community organisations and stakeholders to deliver holistic support to young people and their families.
* Maintain Case Notes: Accurately maintain detailed case notes and records in accordance with organisational and departmental policies and procedures.
* Advocate for Young People: Advocate for the needs of young people and their families within the community, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
* Develop Initiatives: Contribute to the development and implementation of youth-focused initiatives that address the needs of the community.


Our Requirements

* Youth Work Experience: Demonstrated experience working with youth aged up to 18, particularly those facing challenges.
* Qualifications: Certificate IV in Youth Work, Mental Health, or equivalent is desirable.
* Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and work effectively with a geographically dispersed team.
* Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with external partners, such as General Practitioners and schools.
* Empathy and Passion: Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the wellbeing of young people.
* Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and community resources.
* Driver's Licence: Current driver's licence.
