Mental Health Clinician - Adolescent Court Liaison Service
Job Description:
This position is part of the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network's (JHFMHN) Adolescent Court Liaison Service (ACLS). The main focus will be to provide a specialized mental health court diversion and consultation liaison service to targeted Children's Courts and CAMHS in NSW. Collaborating with the broader Adolescent Forensic Mental Health Team and external stakeholders such as Youth Justice, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and community Drug and Alcohol Services.
The role requires clinical expertise in working with vulnerable populations, negotiation, and influencing skills to secure resources from multidisciplinary teams for patient outcomes. Additionally, delivering high-quality mental health care to adolescents and their families, navigating complex ethical or legal considerations, and ensuring successful collaboration.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Clinical Nurse Consultant: Current unrestricted Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, practicing according to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Professional Standards.
* Social Worker: Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in social work, professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers, and adherence to their Code of Ethics.
* Occupational Therapist: General registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
* Psychologist: Minimum of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in psychology, general registration with Psychology Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra), and approval or eligibility as a Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor.
* Clinical Psychologist: Six-year accredited master's degree or higher in clinical or forensic psychology, area of practice endorsement in clinical or forensic psychology with Psychology Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra), and approved or eligible for approval as a Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor.
* At least 5 years' experience working in Mental Health, including relevant clinical experience in Child and Adolescent and/or Early Psychosis in Mental Health.
