The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Mechanical Technician in our Couple Pickled Cold Mill (CPCM) Team based in Port Kembla .
As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The Coupled Pickled Cold Mill is a highly automated processing line that uses a blend of old and new technology.
The CPCM is toward the end of the steel-making process with the primary purpose of strip thickness reduction in preparation for the downstream steel coating processes.
As a skilled Mechanical Tradesperson you will perform maintenance to our CPCM as required while also being directly involved with the planning of maintenance in conjunction with our maintenance coordinators.
What Will You Do
In a role that impacts the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products you will :
as a part of the mechanical team isolateequipment for shutdown works
fault find and inspectquality and production critical equipment
perform mechanicalmaintenancewithin the CPCM on a daily basis and on shut downs
contribute to the team with out of hours support as required
participate in ways to continuously improve our maintenance practises
More About You
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician youll enjoy taking ownership for your work and contributing to the larger team.You will bring :
mechanical fitter / machinist qualifications consisting of either a Certificate III Certificate IV or Diploma.
experience in a heavy industrial environment
exposure to maintenance management systems and / or basic computer skills
an enthusiasm to learn new skills and develop yourself in the role
