* Lead a high-performing team to achieve project milestones and organisational impact.
* Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of biodiversity initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, time and budget.
* Build and maintain collaborative relationships with partners, government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
* Represent the organisation at events and conferences globally and nationally.
* Influence policy change, working with stakeholders at local, national and international levels to promote sustainable ocean governance.
* Stay at the forefront of research and policy developments in ocean biodiversity and habitat conservation.
* Develop and maintain strategic partnerships, including negotiation, contract management, and relationship stewardship.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A tertiary qualification (PhD preferred) in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology or a related field, with at least 10 years' experience working at the nexus of science, governance, policy and impact.
* Deep knowledge of conservation science, marine ecosystems and environmental policy frameworks.
* A strong reputation and established networks across policy, eNGO, academic and government sectors in ocean conservation.
* Proven experience in managing complex conservation projects, including engagement with communities and governments.
* Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate findings into policy and practical impact.
* A strategic mindset, excellent communication skills and a passion for ocean conservation.
