We are seeking askilled and experienced Smallworld Magik Developerto join our growing GIS team.
In this role, you will be instrumental inupgrading and enhancing our Utility GIS platform, leveraging your expertise in Magik development to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.
You will also support critical interface development and integration efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Gather, design and implementscalable, high-level GIS architecturesfor Smallworld application to ensure performance and maintainability.
Lead end-to-enddevelopment efforts for GE Smallworld GIS upgrades, with a strong focus on migration toversion 5.3.
Develop, maintain, and troubleshootinterfaces between enterprise systems, including those usingSOAP-based web services.
Evaluate and enhance system architecture, providing input ondesign improvements; experience in solution architecture is a strong advantage.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams toresolve integration and compatibility issues, such as interfacing theGIS Adapter with Oracle Fusion.
Lead technical advise and guidance onPTI interface integrationand configuration best practices.
Drive enhancements toGIS applicationsto improve business operations and support field services.
Contribute to environment deployment strategies usingKubernetesor other container orchestration tools—experience in this area is advantageous but not required (Optional).
Skills Requirements
Solid hands-on experience with Smallworld platform, spatial data modelling and Version Managed Data Stores (VMDS) in Utility domain.
Strong experience withupgrading GE Smallworld to version 5.3, particularly within Utility domain will be highly valued.
Strong development experience inMagik programming language.
Hands-on experience withGE Smallworld product suites, such as:Electric Office,Gas Distribution Office,Water Office,Physical Network Inventory (PNI).
Familiarity withGE Smallworld tools and frameworks, including:Smallworld Application Framework (SWAF),Geospatial Server Services (GSS),FME (Feature Manipulation Engine).
Experience working with GIS data formats such asShapefiles, GeoJSON, GML & KML.
Exposure toESRI ArcGIS toolsfor GIS interoperability and data exchange.
Working knowledge ofOracleorPostgreSQL/PostGISdatabases.
Nice to Have
Demonstrated expertise in system interface development, especially SOAP
Familiarity withKubernetesor other container orchestration environments.
Experience working with PTI Interfaces
Previous experience troubleshootingGIS-ERP integrations.
