Our client is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join their team. If you have multiple years' operating excavators in subdivision environments, reading plans and grades, and working to high safety and quality standards, this could be your next opportunity.
About our client
Our client is a registered Australian civil works company, operating since April 2023. Our client is based in Mackay, Queensland and is focused on subdivision, infrastructure, and civil development works, delivering high-quality outcomes with strong safety standards.
What you will be doing
Operate excavators in subdivision projects — earthworks, trenches, foundations, cut/fill, plumbing / drainage work
Read and interpret subdivision plans, survey stakes, grade levels, blueprints
Work collaboratively with surveyors, site supervisors, and other trades (utilities, concrete, etc.)
Perform finish grading and ensure work meets required tolerances
Maintain the excavation equipment — daily checks, basic maintenance, safety inspections
Ensure job sites are clean, organised and comply with all safety rules
What you will need
Several years' experience as an excavator operator on subdivision / civil projects
Strong ability to work precisely around underground services and in confined spaces
Competence reading plans, working to set levels and specifications
Valid operator tickets / certifications required in Queensland (or relevant region)
Punctual, reliable, safety-conscious, with good communication skills
Physical stamina for site work and ability to adhere to safety protocols
