Key Responsibilities
* Transactional Processing:
Managing accounts payable (processing supplier invoices) and accounts receivable (issuing client invoices and collecting payments).
* Reconciliations:
Regularly reconciling bank statements, ledgers, and credit card expenses to identify and resolve discrepancies.
* Financial Reporting:
Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets up to the trial balance stage.
* Payroll & Taxes:
Supporting payroll processing (verifying hours and deductions) and assisting with tax documentation, such as VAT or GST returns.
* Data Maintenance:
Updating and maintaining the general ledger, fixed asset registers, and digital filing systems.
* Administrative Support:
Handling financial queries from clients and vendors, managing petty cash, and performing general office duties like filing and data entry.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks, Xero, or Odoo) and competency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
* Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
* Education:
Typically requires a certificate, diploma, or bachelor's degree in Accounting or near completion to graduation .
* Professional Ethics:
A strong ethical code and discretion when handling confidential financial data.
