**ABOUT THE COMPANY.**
Take your next step in your career, building on your previous experiences in an Accounts role. You will work in an established team of Financial Accountants that will provide sufficient guidance to ensure your success in the position as a Finance Officer.
**ABOUT THE POSITION.**
An initial 6 month contract. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will be supporting the Finance Business Unit in the form of accurate, timely, compliant and transparent financial information and analysis.
**DUTIES.**
- Be involved in Council's budget preparation and reporting
- Support the team with a range of administrative tasks
- Assist in a range of accounting (AP & AR) tasks including: month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, and more
- Coordinate with the HR team for the accurate monitoring of the database
- Maintain and update relevant systems databases
**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.**
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and in progress of completing CPA/CA
- Experience working in Local Council (desirable)
- Minimum three years' experience in similar role
- Accountable and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
