What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for the safe and consistent management of Dragline, Dozer, and ROM operations. This includes ensuring equipment availability and meeting production targets, while working closely with planning and operational teams to deliver short- and mid-term goals in line with SHMS, site standards, and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations. This role operates on an 8/6 dayshift roster designed to support a healthy work-life balance.
Your Role Will Include
Leading Dragline and Dozer operations, guiding contractors, and monitoring performanceMaintaining a safe and compliant work environment in line with SHMS and safety proceduresOverseeing the review and accuracy of SOPs, JSAs, and risk assessmentsCollaborating with other departments to meet safety, environmental, and production targetsSupporting short-term scheduling, tracking work in CMMS, and contributing to compliance reviewsFostering a positive, accountable team culture with open communication and continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring
Extensive experience in open-cut coal mining, with a focus on dragline operations and production efficiencyStrong knowledge of QLD Coal Mining Legislation, compliance, and incident investigationProven leadership in team management, contractor oversight, and stakeholder engagementSolid understanding of dragline operations, maintenance planning, and risk managementA proactive, results-driven approach with strong communication and relationship skillsCommitment to problem-solving, continuous improvement, and team success
