The Opportunity
Austal is currently looking for a Painter Blaster. They will assist with general labouring, preparation, and cleaning tasks within a shipyard environment. Austal aims to grow its paint & blast team and will provide full training.
What's involved
* Assist the Painters/Blasters with sanding, painting, and blasting.
* Confined space entry sentry and fire sentry duties.
* Maintain a clean and tidy work environment with an aim to minimise waste in all forms.
* Hold self and workmates accountable to high safety standards.
You'll need
* Ability to use general tools safely.
* Trade certified or experienced in industrial painting/blasting.
* White Card.
* Previous painting or blasting experience is desirable.
* Pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening required as part of onboarding.
* Strong safety focus.
