What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Owners, you will take full charge of the finance function. This is not just a \"desk job\"; you will need to develop close working relationships with key production staff to understand manufacturing variances and drive profitability at the SKU level.
Full Function Accounting: Manage month-end/year-end closing, including P&L, balance sheets, exception reporting and accurate cash flow forecasting.
Inventory & Costing: Lead inventory valuation and \"Bill of Materials\" (BOM) audits. Track raw material price spikes (e.g. resin/PVC) and their impact on margins.
Operational Partnering: Work with production teams to analyse Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and identify \"hidden\" costs in scrap or downtime.
Compliance: Oversee BAS, payroll tax, and statutory reporting, ensuring 100% compliance with Australian Standards.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process efficiencies in our ERP system to reduce manual data entry and improve reporting speed.
What we're looking for
Qualifications: Fully qualified CPA or CA.
Experience: 5+ years in a manufacturing environment (preferable). You understand the \"language\" of a factory.
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience with manufacturing-specific ERP systems.
Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who enjoys getting into the details of production costs.
