Position Description
The Operational Support Officer provides broad administrative and operational assistance to the overall operation based at our aircraft maintenance facility in Alice Springs.
Reporting to the Head of Planning, this role is critical in assisting with the coordination on-site logistics, managing administrative tasks, and improving the experience of staff, vendors, and visitors.
In addition, this role supports aircraft arrival/departure management functions.
This full-time, on-site position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can balance competing priorities, work independently, and support a diverse, fast-paced operational environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Operational Support Officer listed below are not exhaustive and the position is required to carry out activities at the direction of the senior management team within the Planning division responsibilities.
Customer & Site Coordination
Conduct visitor and contractor inductions in accordance with site and security requirements.
Act as an ASIC-cleared escort for visitors as required.
Assist with providing transport to customers and staff.
Coordinate local DAMP (drug and alcohol management program) testing.
Support new-starter induction administration, including scheduling and recordkeeping for local activities.
Provide general administrative support to the operation.
Manage relationships with local vendors for cleaning, site maintenance, and facilities support.
Flight Arrival & Departure Management
Coordinate administrative requirements for aircraft arrivals and departures in Alice Springs.
Support domestic and international aircraft and crew movements, including processing of regulatory documentation for relevant approval processes (NPPC).
Act as a point of contact between Aerotech and the customer for flight operations requirements.
Support non-technical aircraft induction into storage requirements.
General
Identify opportunities for improvement and drive action to enhance the safety, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the operation whilst working to achieve the most cost-effective solution.
Monitor and order site consumables and office supplies as required.
Support internal compliance processes including WHS and NT Worksafe requirements.
Assist with event planning and site visits for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and timely records across relevant systems and tools.
Assist with general IT support across the organisation, general maintenance and GSE activities to support the operation.
Maintain and nurture a Just Culture.
Provide business relief support across the Aerotech operation during periods of leave.
Assist with the administration of ad-hoc projects and change management.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
Essential
A demonstrated interest in site operations, logistics and/or aviation operations.
Demonstrated experience adhering to a high level safety and security culture work environment.
Previous experience in an administrative or operations support role.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy with proven workplace attendance.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a genuine people person.
Hold an open, unrestricted car driver's licence and personal transport to/from Alice Springs Airport.
Physically fit and willing to move around the site daily.
Satisfy the requirements of obtaining Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC) including pre-employment DAMP testing.
Satisfy the requirements of obtaining Airside Drivers Licence (ADA) up to Category 4 level.
Desirable
1-3 years aviation experience.
Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements (primarily CASA, EASA and FAA).
Understanding of WHS principles / NT Worksafe requirements (or willingness to complete training).
Familiarity with site-based or compliance-heavy operational environments.

This full-time position is based at Alice Springs Airport, NT.
Hours
Mon to Fri *********** (summer)
Mon to Fri *********** (winter)
Flexibility to support overtime requirements on evenings and weekends in line with operational requirements/flight schedules in line with the Aerotech Aviation Fatigue Management Policy.
Remuneration
From $80,000 per annum + 12% Superannuation + overtime commensurate to experience.
