Overview
Wayfinder Winery, located in the Margaret River Region and part of the Overstory group, is seeking an experienced Assistant Winemaker to join our small team dedicated to producing wines at the highest level. This is a hands-on role opening for the 2026 vintage, working closely with our Winemaker to deliver exceptional, sustainably produced wines. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in commissioning our new winery and to contribute to a sustainability-driven business.

Responsibilities
* Support the Winemaker across all aspects of the production cycle – from vintage through to bottling and beyond
* Oversee and participate in cellar operations, blending, lab analysis, and quality control
* Lead, mentor, and inspire cellar staff and seasonal employees
* Manage day-to-day winemaking operations including racking, transfers, filtering, bottling, and barrel work
* Lead cellar staff and seasonal workers with a focus on mentoring and maintaining high standards
* Conduct lab analysis and ensure accurate record keeping
* Contribute to blending, sensory trials, and technical tastings
* Maintain winery equipment and facilities to excellent working standards
* Uphold organic certification requirements and sustainability practices
* Represent Wayfinder at tastings, tours, and industry events

Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Oenology
* At least 5 years of relevant winemaking experience
* Proven leadership experience within a winemaking team
* Meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset
* Ability to perform well in a small team environment and lead by example
* Experience managing changing priorities while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude
* A current forklift licence and unrestricted driver's licence
* Willingness to work flexibly, including seasonal night shifts, weekends, and overtime
