The Opportunity
As part of our high‐performing Restructuring team, you will play a pivotal role in leading complex, time‐critical engagements where your judgement and commercial insight directly influence outcomes for clients. Working with experienced partners and senior practitioners, you will support boards, management teams and financiers to stabilise businesses, preserve value and deliver successful turnaround and restructuring outcomes across a diverse range of industries and organisations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead workstreams within complex restructuring and advisory engagements, taking ownership for delivery, resourcing and commercial outcomes.
* Apply strong market, industry and technical insight to identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities, contributing to practical and commercially grounded solutions for clients.
* Take responsibility for maintaining quality and rigour across engagements, ensuring analyses and deliverables meet McGrathNicol's high standards and partner expectations.
* Perform and oversee complex financial and commercial analysis, including cash flow modelling, scenario analysis, valuations and decision support.
* Design, build and review financial models, management reporting and information frameworks that support restructuring, turnaround and advisory outcomes.
* Deliver responsive, high‐quality client service and actively contribute to the development of long‐term client relationships.
* Lead, coach and develop junior team members by delegating meaningful work, providing structured feedback and supporting their technical and professional growth.
About You
* Strong technical capability with a sound grounding in restructuring, advisory or related disciplines.
* Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing junior team members while managing workflow and deliverables.
* Prior experience within a professional services environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders and senior colleagues.
* Well‐developed commercial acumen, with the ability to understand client challenges, assess risk and contribute to value‐adding solutions.
* A high level of professionalism, discretion and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive or confidential matters.
* A university degree in Business, Commerce or a related discipline; full Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) membership (or equivalent qualification) is highly regarded.
