CSCM is a not-for-profit organisation overseeing 1 long day care centre and 3 preschools. Our centre has a maximum of 39 children daily. Thornton Child Care and Pre-School Centre is well known locally, emphasizing natural, home-like environments and strong family relationships.
Our educators enjoy above award pay and conditions, including paid lunch and tea breaks, 2 weeks of Christmas/New Year shutdown, 15 days sick leave (pro-rata for part-time), meeting leave for after-hours staff meetings, and an annual picnic day. Educators can also take 1 additional day off per year for moving house. We have setup and pack-down days at the start and end of each year without children in attendance. Regular programming time off the floor is provided for documentation. We have also applied for the wage retention grant.
We seek 1 Part-time Early Childhood Teacher (Bachelor Degree) for Mondays and Tuesdays at Thornton Child Care and Pre-School Centre.
Qualifications and requirements include:
ACECQA approved Early Childhood Teaching Degree
NESA Accredited as Proficient Teacher (or Provisionally Accredited)
Child Protection Qualification (CHCPRT025)
Current ACECQA approved First Aid Certificate, including asthma and anaphylaxis
Current cleared Working with Children Check
Excellent communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with staff, children, and families
Ability to mentor and guide other educators
Experience in documenting children’s learning and curriculum development
Tasks & responsibilities
Work within the National Quality Framework, The ECA Code of Ethics, service philosophy, policies, child safe standards, and procedures
Lead and contribute effectively as part of a team
Plan and implement a high-quality, responsive curriculum
Maintain safe, welcoming environments
Develop strong professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Mentor and support educators and students
Contribute to planning, implementing, and documenting the learning program
Complete high-standard documentation of children’s learning
