Our client is a highly reputable Governance and Advisory organisation and a recognised market leader in governance excellence. They are seeking an accomplished professional with deep expertise in governance, corporate law and public policy to join their high-performing team on a 12 month contract.

The Role
As Senior Policy Adviser, you will play a pivotal role in leading policy development, shaping governance reform and contributing to key research and practice projects. You will represent the organisation across high-profile national forums, engaging with senior stakeholders, regulators and governance leaders. This role is well suited to a lawyer with strong corporate law experience, proven capability in public policy, exceptional writing skills and the confidence to operate effectively at senior levels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead policy development and act as a subject-matter expert within a multidisciplinary team.
* Drive analysis, advice and submissions on regulatory reform and governance policy options.
* Represent the organisation at external meetings, roundtables, public hearings, conferences and seminars.
* Build and maintain deep stakeholder networks across government, regulatory bodies, investors and the governance community.
* Provide thought leadership and contribute to content across multiple channels.
* Provide secretariat support to policy and advisory committees, ensuring sound governance and process.
* Identify and deliver evolving governance practice projects, including research, reports and guidance.
* Collaborate with internal experts and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality practice insights.
* Undertake analysis and research on emerging governance issues and debates.
Experience & Qualifications:
* 10+ years' experience in a legal, policy, regulatory or advisory role.
* Strong knowledge of corporate governance practice and regulatory frameworks.
* Extensive experience preparing policy submissions and contributing to public policy development.
* Strong technical capability across technology, AI regulation and/or competition is desirable.
* Highly developed writing skills, including drafting submissions, reports and presentations.
* Demonstrated stakeholder engagement capability and a collaborative working style.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, politics, commerce or economics; postgraduate governance-related study is highly desirable.
