Overview
James Nash State High School is seeking a Canteen Supervisor to join our school community, to manage the daily operations of our school tuckshop. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for providing nutritious and affordable food options to students and staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene, and coordinating a team of staff and volunteers. The successful applicant will be passionate about healthy eating, enjoy working in a busy and community-focused environment, and bring strong organisational and customer-service skills to the role.
About The Role
Responsibilities include:
* Coordinate the daily operation of the school canteen and oversee the preparation of food and counter services.
* Identify stock requirements and place orders with appropriate vendors on a regular basis.
* Participate in regular stocktake, recording and reporting processes.
* Maintain accurate and appropriate records for the canteen and associated catering operations including filing of ordering, receipt and related documentation.
* Liaise with suppliers to maximise earning potential for the school.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Experience in food preparation, retail, or hospitality management (school tuckshop experience desirable).
* Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate volunteers.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A commitment to providing a friendly, inclusive, and efficient service to students and staff.
* An understanding of budgeting, stock control, and cash handling procedures.
* A positive attitude and the ability to adapt to a busy school environment.
Mandatory Requirements
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card) - must be current prior to commencement.
* Food Safety Certificate (Food Handling competency).
