Location: Medicare Mental Health Centre, Bundaberg.

About You

Lead a team of Peer Wellbeing Navigators to support and represent people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress and substance use or addiction. Comfortable sharing personal experiences within a safe and supported way and have personal experience of a mental illness or psychological distress and recovery. Leadership experience in health or community services sector valued, and proven leadership in a mental health or equivalent community-based support role with lived experience.

Responsibilities

The Senior Peer Wellbeing Navigator will lead a team of Peer Wellbeing Navigators and may carry a small caseload of participants, providing service navigation and linking participants to relevant therapy services.

Requirements

- Personal experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health services
- Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Work, SHARC Peer Worker Training, Intentional Peer Support or willingness to complete
- 2+ years relevant work experience in a peer worker or leadership role
- National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- NDIS Workers Screening check
- Evidence of right to work in Australia
- 100 points of identification
- NDIS Workers Orientation module certificate – free online course
