What you'll do
As a Infrastructure Security Engineer you will be responsible proactively identifying, reviewing and remediating security vulnerabilities across Compnow's infrastructure and managed environments. This role works closely with our Development and Internal IT team to ensure servers, applications and infrastructure are secure, patched, compliant and continuously monitored.
* Drive proactive vulnerability management across Linux and Windows environments, ensuring timely remediation and alignment with security benchmarks and hardening standards.
* Own and maintain secure Ubuntu/Linux infrastructure, applying patches, optimising configurations, and embedding best‐practice system hardening.
* Support and strengthen core systems engineering functions, including server environments, identity management, backup integrity, and network security fundamentals.
* Champion continuous security improvement through monitoring, incident response collaboration, documentation, audit participation, and cross‐team risk communication.
* Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‐as‐code, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
What you'll bring
* 3 to 4+ years' experience in a Security Engineer position or similar.
* Experience administrating Ubuntu Enterprise Linux and patching, including vulnerability remediation.
* Proven track record of project implementation.
* Hands‐on experience with patch management processes and maintaining secure systems.
* Strong understanding of endpoint detection and response tools (e.g., CrowdStrike).
Desired Technical Skills And Capabilities
* Solid understanding of network fundamentals, firewalls, routing, VLANs, DHCP, DNS.
* Experience with SCCM, Autopilot, Intune, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
* Skilled in virtual environments (VMWare, Hyper‐V) and server/storage deployment.
What else do you need to apply
* Travel on‐site to our office in Notting Hill.
* Must be an Australian resident available to work full time without restrictions.
