Overview
Are you an experienced qualified baker or pastry cook? We would like you to join our small but great baking team (2 positions open).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake buns, cakes, biscuits and pastry goods; able to make all special cakes as ordered or to launch new recipes.
- Glaze buns and pastries, and decorate cakes with cream and icing.
- Prepare pastry fillings: cooking pies, sausage rolls, pasties, making cream and icing.
- Knead, mature, cut, mould, mix and shape dough and pastry goods.
- Coordinate forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products.
- Operate machines which roll and mould dough; monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.
- Check the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Check the quality of raw materials and weigh ingredients.
- Manage stock and ordering of stock.
Requirements / Qualifications
- AQF Certificate III including at least 3 years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
- At least three years of relevant experience. A portfolio/photo of cake and pastry work is requested.
- Sound knowledge of all aspects of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Ability to work between stores located in Caboolture and Coolum Beach.
- Punctual and reliable; available to work a 7-day roster including day, night, early morning, or evening, with weekend and public holiday work required.
