The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Utilising the latest technology, we deliver extensive healthcare and 24-hour emergency services to remote, rural and regional Australia.
This role offers a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner position within our established Mental Health, Alcohol & other Drug and Wellbeing Team. The team is multi-disciplinary and provides clinical care across the stepped mental health care model.
The position will provide coordinated clinical-care and therapeutic services to clients living with chronic mental illness in Broken Hill, Dubbo and Western NSW. This programme allows consumers to receive services where, when and for as long as they need.
The role will work with the team and clients to provide a higher level of clinical assessment, diagnostics and treatment planning ensuring healthcare equity despite geographical remoteness.
The candidate will facilitate a recovery-oriented service in line with current guidelines. In practice, the role will deliver a mix of therapy and case management in line with client needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Master of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Mental Health.
* Registered with AHPRA as a Nurse Practitioner.
* Significant experience or demonstrated understanding working in rural/remote/population health.
* Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
* Experience working with rural/remote clients in pastoral settings.
* Experience working with families, couples and groups.
