About the role
Alter It Alteration is seeking talented Tailors, Sewing Machinists, and Seamstresses to join our team in Chirnside Park, Victoria. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your needs. As an experienced alterations professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the appearance and fit of our customers' garments.
What you'll be doing
1. Expertly alter and repair a variety of clothing items, including dresses, suits, pants, and more
2. Use industrial sewing machines and other tailoring equipment to make precise adjustments
3. Provide excellent customer service, offering advice and guidance to ensure customer satisfaction
4. Maintain a clean and organised workstation to support efficient and high-quality work
5. Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and handle fluctuating workloads
What we're looking for
1. Proven experience as a Tailor, Sewing Machinist, or Seamstress, preferably within the alterations industry
2. Excellent sewing and alteration skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of fabrics and materials
3. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
4. Effective communication skills to interact with customers and provide guidance
5. Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team
6. Flexibility to accommodate fluctuating workloads and deadlines
