About the Team & the Position Enterprise Application Services (Wholesale solutions team) is responsible for ensuring AEMO's Market Systems have the required functionality, reliability, security and flexibility to support the cost effective operation and development of the National Energy Market (NEM), Electricity and Gas Retail Markets (FRC), Victorian Gas Wholesale market (DGWM), Gas Supply Hub (GSH) and the Short Term Trading Market (STTM) and meets National Electricity Rule and National Gas Rule requirements.
The Senior Developer role is responsible for providing technical SME advice, solution design, development, support and implementation activities associated with system changes and providing 24 x 7 second level callout support.
Position Responsibilities Plays a lead role in requirement analysis, developing, maintaining and enhancing market software applications in accordance with enterprise architecture principles and the IT Strategy to support AEMO energy market operator functions Engage with stakeholders and business users when designing systems, managing their expectations and understanding.
Ensuring the structure of the documentation, architecture, software and data models is such that the system is most cost efficient, secure and sound.
Being the AEMO expert on certain internal workings of the Market systems.
Provide innovative and quick solutions to support and maintenance needs.
Lead a team to deliver solutions as assigned.
Position Requirements Skills & Experience: Professional experience in frontend technologies (VueJS 3, HTML5, CSS3, XML, JavaScript/TypeScript) Strong experience integrating with RESTful APIs, handling authentication flows (e.g., JWT), and managing CORS/config headers Familiarity with design systems, UI/UX principles, and tools like Figma Familiarity with IIS, YARP, and rewrite rules for frontend-backend routing Microsoft technologies (C#, ******* Web API, .NET Core / .NET 6+) is beneficial Understanding of SQL Server, query tuning, and basic database design Middleware integration - Web Methods, APIM Experience in CI/CD pipeline using Build & Source control tools (AzureDevOps, GitHub, JFrog) Experience working in high performance team, using either Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project management methodology Detailed knowledge and experience in systems analysis, systems design and standards used to ensure the integrity of installed applications.
Deliver technical documents and contribute to the developer knowledge base Education/ professional Certifications: Tertiary qualifications in Computing and IT, Communications/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
