**About the role**
We are recruiting an AIMI **Research Associate or Research Fellow** to work with Dr Mathieu Fourment to develop real-time surveillance algorithms to detect and track food-borne outbreaks.
**Responsibilities within this role, will include**:
- Mentor a team of students in carrying out related research projects.
- Participate in and present at research seminars and international conferences.
- Participation in AIMI's professional development activities.
- Produce high quality research publications.
**About You**
As an **AIMI Research Associate or Research Fellow** you will be a critical thinker and problem solver, with the ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team. You will have skills and knowledge of microbiology, microbial ecology, molecular biology, proteomics, genomics, or computational biology. You will also have:
- PhD in an appropriate field.
- Demonstrated research track record and proven experience in research.
- Track record of peer reviewed publications.
- Previous experience in bioinformatics.

**Remuneration & Benefits**
**Base Salary Range: $88,273 to $107,511 (Level A) - **Research Associate
**Base Salary Range: $117,420 to $ 135,915 pa (Level B)** - Research Fellow
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) **in addition** to the base salary.
The position is **full-time** and will be made on a **fixed term (12 months)**
