A major industrial organisation with a history stretching back over a century and a portfolio of trusted, long-standing clients, is seeking a Head of Optimisation. This is a newly created leadership role as they are now backed by a global infrastructure investment firm and the organisation is undergoing a significant transformation to drive strategic growth. This role will report into the C-suite and will work very closely with Program Director and senior leaders within engineering, safety, sustainability and the sites. You’ll lead the end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale equipment replacement programs, operational efficiency initiatives, and site automation strategies. What You'll Do Lead the development and delivery of national optimisation programs focused on asset strategy and ROI Oversee capital project planning for equipment upgrades and replacement Identify opportunities to automate and modernise site operations Partner with site leaders to improve operational excellence and reduce waste Align technical planning with strategic sustainability and risk management goals Provide financial and data-led insights to support investment decisions What You Bring Extensive experience leading capital optimisation and process improvement programs Strong track record in complex environments such as manufacturing, healthcare, or contract services with operational assets Deep understanding of development of asset strategies, asset lifecycle planning, automation, and waste reduction Proven success in building business cases, managing budgets, and delivering ROI Confident leadership style, with experience influencing executive and cross-functional teams High capability in analysing operational data to drive continuous improvement Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma methodology will be highly regarded, but not essential This role is a permanent opportunity and will pay circa $180K - $200K, with some flexibility for the right person. Tis role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne and there will also be some travel required within Australia / NZ.
