Primary objective
To design, develop, implement and continuously improve high-quality learning and development resources that support
organisational objectives, workforce capability, and operational performance.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Coordinate, evaluate and monitor a range of learning and development programs to ensure DoC staff have access to quality
training and assessment
2. Assist with the design and development of accredited and non-accredited training resources across a variety of mediums (e
learning, blended and face to face) to suit the needs of DoC staff.
3. Develop partnerships and liaise with staff, management, central HR and external agencies to ensure all training needs are
accurately identified, addressed and to coordinate program support as required and where local expertise is limited.
4. Accurately record, collate, quality check and report training and assessment activities, provide timely and accurate performance
reports including training outcomes/program effectiveness, compliance checks, reviews, recommendations and statistics.
5. Assist with identifying organisational training needs and supporting TNA activities.
6. Analyse appropriate legislation to interpret and adapt for training delivery and update and review training manuals to comply
with changes to legislation, recommendations or best practice within DoC.
7. Coordinate, establish and participate in training reviews, compliance checks and revise learning and development policies and
procedures, and training systems to meet DoC standards within all DoC offices.
8. Assist with preparing and monitoring the procurement of learning and development programs and process invoices and billing.
9. Work closely with the RTO Quality and Compliance manager where required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Knowledge of Vocational Education and Training, the National Training Framework, Training Packages and Competency based
training and assessment
2. Sound knowledge of adult learning styles including the ability to design and develop accredited/non-accredited training
3. resources in line with best practice and national competencies.
4. Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
5. Knowledge of procurement with experience in contract administration of outsourced providers.
6. Ability to initiate and deliver outcomes in a changing environment and contribute constructively to the staff learning and
development team and achieve outcomes in a timely manner.
7. Knowledge of eLearning software and design tools.
Desirable
1. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
2. A tertiary qualification in learning resource development
