Salary: $110,614 – $122,261 per year
We're hiring an experienced UX Designer (Level 2) to join the User Experience team at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).
In this role, you'll design intuitive, user‐centred digital experiences across web, mobile and desktop platforms—supporting ACER's mission to improve learning outcomes globally. Reporting to the UX Lead, you'll collaborate closely with UX, UI, product owners, developers and stakeholders within a mature, evidence‐based UX practice.
Responsibilities
* Design user journeys, wireframes and prototypes, supporting high‐fidelity UI design
* Plan and conduct usability testing and translate insights into design improvements
* Apply evidence‐based UX methodologies to inform decisions
* Work collaboratively with designers, developers and product teams
* Clearly communicate design rationale to technical and non‐technical audiences
* Support accessibility and inclusive design across digital products
Qualifications
* 5+ years' experience in UX design
* Strong experience using Figma and working with design systems
* Hands‐on usability testing and user research experience
* Ability to translate insights and stakeholder feedback into effective solutions
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
