Job Title: Community Housing Officers
MLAHMC is the largest Aboriginal housing management organisation in NSW, responsible for approx 700 properties across the state. Their mission is to build stronger, healthier Aboriginal families and communities through sustainable and culturally respectful housing services.
The opportunity; what you'll do:
* Manage an allocated tenancy portfolio: agreements, bonds, rent/arrears, and records and notes in the tenancy management system.
* Conduct entry, routine and exit inspections; maintain accurate condition reports and correspondence.
* Apply early intervention strategies; support fair, realistic payment plans and connect tenants to services.
* Build respectful relationships with tenants, families and communities; provide clear advice on rights and responsibilities.
* Identify, report and follow up repairs/maintenance with the Assets Team; elevate health & safety risks promptly.
* Prepare clear correspondence and reports; contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
About you; what you'll bring:
* Aboriginality; Identified position under s14(d) Anti-Discrimination Act (NSW); community acceptance essential.
* Strong cultural understanding and commitment to culturally safe service.
* Experience in tenancy, property or community housing (or closely related services).
* Excellent communication, relationship building and record keeping; sound judgement and attention to detail.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn tenancy systems quickly.
* Current NSW Driver's Licence; capacity for regional travel. National Criminal History Check & Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
