Building Projects Officer
Maitland City Council is looking for a skilled Building Projects Officer to join the Building Services Team, to provide support in the coordination of service and building contracts and projects.
About the Role
As the Building Project Officer, you will be responsible for the coordination of service and building contracts and building projects. This role involves supporting the operations of Council's building services functions through a customer focused approach. Overseeing the inspection of buildings and facilities, making recommendations for repair and maintenance works Help coordinate and supervise reactive and scheduled maintenance works and when required, undertaking and supervising emergency works.
In addition, the role requires a proactive approach towards small scale commercial building construction projects and maintenance, to ensure each project is carried out in accordance with the approved design, plans and specifications, budget allocations and time constraints.
Projects may include refurbishments, alterations and additions to any of Councils buildings including sporting facilities and buildings, aquatic centres, administration and operational facilities, community buildings and heritage buildings.
About You
To be successful within this role, you will hold a trade qualification (Certificate IV) and/or a tertiary qualification in Building and Construction, couple with solid experience in construction and project management.
You will have the proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors at once, for several small-scale building projects, whilst working within defined budgets and timeframes. You will be mindful of WH&S for all stakeholders involved in projects and have demonstrated experience working within several databases and systems.
You will be a team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and your excellent interpersonal and relationship building abilities will assist you in successfully engaging multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position with a base salary range of $91,165 up to $101,193 per year based on demonstrated experience + a commuter use vehicle + 12% super.
The working hours of this role are 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
