Overview
An excellent opportunity is available for a Junior Farmhand or recent agricultural graduate to join a well-established broadacre cropping and Merino sheep enterprise located near Inverleigh, Victoria.
The business operates across approximately 4,500 hectares, producing wheat, beans and canola, alongside a self-replacing Merino flock. This role offers hands-on experience across both cropping and livestock operations and strong potential for long-term career development within a progressive farming business.
Working under the guidance of the Cropping and Livestock Managers, you will be involved across all aspects of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
Cropping Operations
* Learning and assisting with all broadacre cropping activities including cultivations, spraying, spreading, pasture improvement, fodder and grain production and handling
* Operation and maintenance of modern farm machinery utilising RTK GPS technology
Livestock Operations
* Assisting with animal husbandry, mustering, paddock work and yard work
General Farm Duties
* Fencing and general upkeep of farm infrastructure including roads and water systems
* Operation and basic mechanical maintenance of tractors, front-end loaders, telehandlers, utes, ATVs and UTVs
* Workshop maintenance of farm machinery and equipment
* Truck driving (truck licence advantageous but not essential)
* Accurate record keeping and reporting
* Adhering to and promoting safe work practices and OH&S requirements
About You
* Junior Farmhand, school leaver, or recent agricultural graduate encouraged to apply
* Genuine interest in broadacre cropping and livestock production
* Willingness to learn, take direction and work as part of a team
* Mechanical aptitude and machinery experience an advantage
* Current driver’s licence required
