The Team:
Mildura Base Public Hospital Clinical Trials & Research (MBPH CT&R) is a newly established unit in 2023, to allow for improved access to clinical trials for patients located in the Northern Mallee region. Located adjacent to the Mildura Base Public Hospital, initially the MBPH CT&R will be undertaking cancer clinical trials, with a view to adding clinical trials in other specialities in the coming years.
The Role:
The Clinical Trials Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing and developing clinical trial activity at MBPH. They ensure the coordination and management of clinical trials research projects in accordance with study protocols and with regulatory and ethical requirements as defined by;
* Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP, CPMP/ICH/135/95)
* Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)
* NHMRC Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research
* Applicable state/federal privacy laws; and
* MBPH Clinical trials Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Working Instructions.
Remunerated as HS5 Grade 5 under the Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement (or relevant EBA according to qualifications)
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Registration with Professional Association e.g. AHPRA, AHRI etc
* Demonstrated experience in budgetary, financial and workforce to ensure available resources are used effectively and key performance indicators are met
* Health and/or research leadership experience
* A tertiary qualification relevant to the position
* Current or ability to gain Good Clinical Practice Certificate
* Ability to travel within and outside of Victoria, potentially requiring overnight stays on occasion
* Ability to oversee and/or undertake clinical trial activity, including patient-facing roles
