THE OPPORTUNITY
Here at Norweld, we are continuing to grow our team to keep up with customer demand! This means we have an exciting new opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our Cairns team. You’ll enjoy a great work/life balance with a 4-day week and no weekend work, in a new, clean work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing efficient and effective day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring the manufacturing, installation and distribution of Norweld products in your division meets quality standards and exceeds customer expectations. You will be responsible for achieving time and quality targets, effective inventory control, people management and driving a strong safety focus.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting the production and operations managers to plan, develop, coordinate and manage production processes, resources, schedules and output
• Ensuring that production processes are running efficiently and are meeting established targets and timelines
• Ensuring that products meet quality standards by monitoring processes, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions when necessary
• Prioritising and delegating tasks accordingly, and motivating the team to complete the tasks required of them
• Performing administrative duties related to reporting and tracking production metrics, including maintaining accurate records of performance, inventory, and safety compliance for continuous improvement and regulatory purposes
• Supervising workloads and managing rosters, ensuring the team are clocking in/out every shift, and are entering leave in accordance with procedures
• Providing coaching, feedback and recognition to team members to assist with their training and development
• Actively and constructively work as part of the Norweld team to achieve team and individual goals
• Communicating effectively with staff, customers, and other stakeholders, in a friendly, welcoming, and approachable manner
• Ensuring the health and safety of all customers, visitors, and team members
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating workplace hazards to maintain a secure environment
• Overseeing workplace cleanliness and ensuring proper maintenance and care of tools and equipment
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will have:
• Relevant leadership experience in a workshop environment
• Excellent quality of work and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
• A commitment to superior customer service, product, and market development
• Ability to use initiative, actively listen and follow through with tasks provided
• Current licenses and certificates (e.g. Australian Manual Drivers Licence and Forklift ticket)
• Intermediate/Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Experience using Jim2 (desirable)
• Qualified in a relevant trade (desirable)
• Sound knowledge of 4x4 Makes, Models and popular accessories and brands (desirable)
• Passion for the outdoors, off-roading and camping is a plus!
