Strong In Family and Culture Facilitator CQID is experiencing organisational growth across all services and seeking suitable candidates for a range of positions. CQID is one of the largest employers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Central Queensland region. Offering a broad range of service areas, with roles that serve our community across Rockhampton, Emerald, Longreach, Woorabinda, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay. Purpose of the position This role takes responsibility for finding family and kin to connect and reunify disconnected children, by executing and continually improving the Strong in Family & Culture Family Finding and Reunification procedures.
Responsibilities and duties Provide case facilitation to the Strong in Family & Culture (SFC) team in all aspects related to family finding and reunification. Research, identify, locate, and engage family, kin, and significant others in the child/young person's life using various processes and mechanisms. Develop individualised family finding and reunification plans for approval by the Manager, and implement these plans to achieve timely results. Maintain accurate family finding (including genograms) and reunification records, and report on progress and outcomes. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, families, and stakeholders. Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and standards related to practice. Support team members as appropriate for a case facilitator. Undertake additional duties as required to support CQID's reputation and operations. Participate in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS). Adhere to CQID's Workplace Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Perform other responsibilities as directed by the Manager/Team leader. Qualifications and experience Current C Class Queensland Driver's Licence. Current Working with Children Check, "Blue Card". Willingness to obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate. Experience delivering services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Qualifications or knowledge related to Child Protection. Experience in client engagement and case collaboration. Ability to work in a culturally safe and competent manner. Effective verbal and written communication skills with families, children, stakeholders, and colleagues. Understanding of Human Services Quality Framework and Quality Assurance Processes. Ability to record information accurately using client management and genogram systems. Skills and attributes Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (non-Indigenous applicants considered only if no suitable Indigenous candidates are found in the first round). Knowledge of the Child Protection Act 1999. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and client management systems. Physical capacity to perform job responsibilities, including travel for family finding and reunification. Effective communication skills, outcome-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing work tasks independently. Proven ability to find family and achieve positive outcomes for children and families. Thorough understanding of child protection systems and a strength-based, culturally sensitive approach. Strong connection to and knowledge of the local Indigenous community. #J-18808-Ljbffr
