Cardiologists to provide Virtual Cardiac Care for Northern Territory Cardiologists to provide Virtual Cardiac Care for Northern Territory: A Unique Opportunity NT Cardiac is a private cardiac specialist practice with over 25 years of providing diagnostic and consultative services to both public and private patients.
We have established local infrastructure, diagnostic capabilities, and IT systems to enable Virtual cardiac care.
Following successful pilots in remotely supported clinics and diagnostic reporting by cardiologists based in other Australian states, we aim to expand this model to serve patients across the Northern Territory, including Aboriginal communities in remote areas.
We are seeking expressions of interest from cardiologists interested in delivering Virtual Cardiac Care to private and public patients throughout the NT.
This role allows for remote work from your current location, utilizing digital health platforms to provide high-quality, patient-centered cardiac care across the region.
This model is ideal for cardiologists committed to improving access to specialist services in regional and remote Australia, with a particular interest in Aboriginal heart health and proficiency in virtual care delivery systems.
About the Role Providing patient-focused cardiac services, including imaging and diagnostics.
Access to advanced equipment and facilities.
Support from a dedicated team including admin staff, nurses, diagnostic technicians, and cardiac sonographers.
Support from NT resident cardiologists for urgent face-to-face consultations or investigations.
Utilization of secure digital platforms such as: Coviu or TEAMS for telehealth consultations Aura Portal & VIP.
Net for scheduling, referrals, and reporting Heart Lab for echocardiogram review and reporting Epiphany for ECG, Holter, and BPM interpretation Synapse for radiology images Flexible working arrangements, including after-hours sessions.
Key Responsibilities Conduct virtual consultations and interpret diagnostics for referred patients.
Review and report on echocardiograms, ECGs, Holters, and other investigations.
Coordinate with referring clinicians and the NT Cardiac team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation via Aura Portal or Practice Management System.
Requirements Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology or equivalent.
Current specialist registration with AHPRA.
Proven experience in delivering high-standard cardiac care.
Competency with telehealth and digital health platforms.
Experience in regional, remote, or Aboriginal health is preferred but not essential.
